| Flash is a Golden
Retriever. Her official AKC name is Duckabush
Puparazzi Newz'nce. Flash is about four years old. She's the most requested
personality at our studio. A highly intelligent soul, she wears
two hats (and will try to steal yours). Her professional hat is
partially chewed yet perfectly snug as a greeter of customers and other
welcome intruders. She'll deliver a brochure when asked and will
go to her room if she really has to. On the home front, her hat
is much more tattered. Flash dotes on her dad with tennis balls
and pull-toys, snuggles with her mom and keeps her four-legged
companions on their toes. Her swimming name is "Splish Splash Flash Dash".
Favorite park: Taku Lake. Favorite words: "Dog Walk!" Favorite unusual command: "Fix your lip!" (she does this on command if it's stuck on a tooth.) |

Drew is an Australian
Shepherd mix adopted from Friends of Pets. Drew has
never met a lap she didn't love. We guess that she's about 10
years old. Her hobbies include morphing her ears into every shape
imaginable and hunting for stray shards of beef jerky throughout the
studio after any given session. Drew was a past Dog Jog mascot
for Friends of Pets and makes regular appearances at many of our
dog-related special events. Her original foster mother, Carol Hawn-Miller of Kitty and K-9
Connection nicknamed her Drew-lina. She also answers
to Rickie Roo, Rudy-Too and "Who wants a cookie?"
Favorite Words: Can't say it here - but it sparks a great chorus of barking from Drew. |

| Oliver is another Friends of Pets
rescue. He came to the studio for Pet Patrol portraits about six
years
ago and I couldn't resist his charm. His photo never made it to
the
Anchorage Daily News. He adores the dogs and plays with them
regularly. Least favorite words and sounds: "Oliver, get off the table!" and "Squish, squirt, Squish!" (the sound of a partially effective water squirt bottle.) Favorite sounds: kibble hitting the dish, cheese wrappers and - more than anything else - the wonderful crinkle of a Tostidos corn chips bag. |

| Kobuk was welcomed into our family Spring,
2008. I drove 300 miles roundtrip to and from
Nikiski to
adopt this gentle soul from Alaska's Extended
Life Animal Sanctuary. When I met Kobuk
(nicknamed Buck)
our eyes and noses made contact and it was love at first sight
and sniff. We guess that he has Bernese Mountain Dog, German
Shepherd and other assorted varieties mixed in. After just a few
days in our Zoo he's adjusting to his role as an instigator of wacky
races around and throughout the house and backyard. He's quickly
coming out of his shell and loves to cuddle. Favorite acitivity so far: shadowing me around where ever I go. Least favorite activity: not being able to shadow me where ever I go. When asked: "What would you change in the world if you were king?" Answer: "Woof." |

| Layla is just a few months
old. She was rescued by a friend of ours. Layla originally
came from a family who kept her kenneled during a large portion of her
young life. She was purchased via puppy mill through an Anchorage
pet store. She's slowly coming out of her shell now that she has
the attention and care that she deserves. Puppy class is
definitely in her future. She has a vibrant personality
considering what she's endured. Favorite acitivity so far: chewing everyone else's paws, snuggles and bed time treats. Best dog buddy: Kobuk Favorite rescuer: Kathleen Career Plans: Canine Rights Litigation Expert |
