Baby Elizabeth visited the studio yesterday with mom, dad, grandparents and her four-legged siblings. Elizabeth is technically a newborn. She came into our world nearly two months early. Her original due date would have been within a week or so of today. She's a miracle and a blessing.

Fifty-five. It's a speed limit that I'm not willing to recognize (in life). A milepost that marks a halfway point. '55' is a pair of nickels that still have their shine. And, it's my age, May 20.
On reflection, I have just one thought ... how thankful I am to be surrounded by a loving wife and a myriad of wonderful dogs (and cat). And I'm thankful to have so much support and friendship from everyone around me.

These past few days ... I'm almost speechless. I've been blessed to be able to photograph so many different personalities and wonderful people and their companions. I'm very humbled.
The week was accentuated with Isadora and her favorite four-legged "sister" today at the studio.
"Izzy" was absolutely wonderful to photograph today. The primary goal was to capture some portraits of her with Zelda - a 10 year old wonderdog that was adopted from Anchorage Animal Care and Control many years ago. I photographed Zelda a few years ago by herself. Today was even better!
My favorite image (shown above) is one of those candid moments that happen often between Zelda and Issabella. Capturing that moment through the lens is another thing altogether. Mission Accomplished!!
There were many other fantastic moments. Too many to show on this blog. But they were all memorable. Izzy has so much personality. Incomparable.

Flash and me.Flash is eight years and a few months old. Me ... turning 55 in two days. Feeling as chipper and young as ever! Tossed quite a few pounds off the past few months. Scaling cliffs and walking the trails like a teen!
We took a couple hours off this morning - unusual for us because Flash and I are almost always hard at work well before 8 a.m. every day - usually Saturdays, too.
This self-portrait was created at McHugh Creek at 8:30 a.m.
We kept our eyes and ears open so as not to disturb the local Grizzly that's been making its rounds lately.

What a totally fun day today.
With Cassie assisting throughout, we guided Jennifer and Patrick - an awesome couple and so very photogenic together - to several locations around Anchorage.
Both love to bowl. So, we started our Thursday adventure at Center Bowl in Spenard. We were having a lot of fun - with all of the lanes to ourselves - when all of the sudded I noticed the artwork above the pins throughout the bowling alley. 1957 Thunderbirds were everywhere on the walls. I've decided that bowling is definitely in my future. Oh. My. Gosh.
Next, we traveled to some signature locations for fun in the sun. It was a fantastic session.
I can't wait to photograph Jen and Pat's wedding later this year (note the 11 & 9 on the bowling balls that mark their November 9 wedding date)! There's is one of just four weddings I've accepted this year. I'm a very lucky photographer.
We created many other images. I'll post another one with their cute Min Pin "Piper" this evening.
Do you live in Arizona? If so, I'm visiting sometime during the last two weeks of December, 2012.
How about Las Vegas? I'm available for session in your area the last week of December, 2012.
Hawaii? Plans are in the works for a visit sometime during the last week of February or first week of March. This timeframe is a little flexible and we haven't decided which Island(s) quite yet. So, let's put together an awesome package and adventure under the sunshine.

Yupa with Cricket!Fantastic session today with very lovable Yupa and Cricket in the studio and outside in one of the studio parks. The session was a birthday present from Kim's mom. I've worked with her family a few times over the years. Every session brings something very special. Today was a perfect example of this.
With awesome techical assistance from Cassie, inlcuding lighting and wrangling, we created memorable portraits.
I'm really fond of the portrait that features Yupa with Cricket looking over her back. We worked and worked for poses like this one. It paid off!!!

"George." (Name has been changed - this is a surprise!!)This is a series of portraits featuring "George."
Now, George is not really this cutie's name. His identity is being protected because the images we created will be a Father's Day gift for "George's" dad in June.
If you recognize "George" you're hereby sworn to secrecy!
And ... so you know, "George" is a code word that has a nostalgic reference.
That's the only clue I'll offer!
