National Blogosphere via www.seniorpooch.com

The following is a link to a national blog called SeniorPooch.com.  Jeff Narucki interviewed me about the inspiration for It's Important to Paws.  Thank you, Jeff.  What a treat to be able to share a common language that is based upon the love and respect of animal companions.

To followers of my blog, I hope you'll also subscribe to SeniorPooch.com.  It's packed full of information that's clearly an excellent resource for anyone who is owned by dogs.

Going Viral with Subaru of America

A few months ago, I photographed a large group of agility dogs for an event I called Stuff the Subie. Subaru of America recently included it as part of their celebration of achieving one million fans. The photo we submitted is used as an introduction to other images featuring dogs and Subarus. Check it out ... we're 23 seconds into the video! Unless I'm mistaken, it's one of the highlight images of the entire collection.  However, I understand I may be biased.
Well done everyone!!!!
These beautiful four-legged wonder dogs were paying attention to their favorite humans (more than a dozen dog lovers who have earned their dog's attention.) They deserve total appreciation and recognition for creating such awesome relationships with their pups. Extra special credit goes to the black labrador for resisting the obvious temptation of an afternoon snack.

True North Magazine article by University of Alaska student Ashley Snyder

Ashley Snyder, a Journalism and Public Communications major (and animal lover) interviewed me a few months back as part of an article for UAA's True North Magazine.  Thank you for writing and sharing this article, Ashley!   Here's the story ...

Working to improve the animal scene in Anchorage

After months of work in collaboration with Anchorage Animal Care and Control, Sprocketheads, Friends of Pets, and David Jensen Photography two PSAs are now airing on local television stations and via radio.  Both were filmed at my home and also at my studio.  The first, called Real House Pets of Anchorage, promotes spay and neuter programs.  The second, called The ACatemy Awards, advocates the adoption of abandoned cats in Anchorage.

I'm incredibly proud of everyone who participated in this venture.  A lot of work went into the planning and production of these pieces.   It was a significant effort that will help spread the message about the need to Spay and Neuter cats and dogs while increasing the awareness that cat ownership can be a rewarding, lifetime commitment.

Shown above are two posters the studio created to promote these messages.  These will be on display for the next year or two at local animal care businesses and organizations (including my studio.)

Here are the two videos via YouTube.

Coming soon ... feature article in UAA's annual Magazine "True North."

Stay tuned.  The studio's efforts to help build families through the adoption of cats and dogs will be featured in UAA's annual True North magazine.  Written and produced by studends of the University of Alaska Anchorage's Journalism and Public Communications Degree Program, it will include photographs and editorial describing some of the success stories that resulted, in part, because of what we do at my studio.

The magazine is due for publication and distribution in another 2-3 weeks.

Shown below is the Gibson family.  They may be one of the families featured.  Dog and Michelle met their dog Oliver Twist through Friends of Pets at my studio's annual Pawstice event.

(Pawstice 2012 is now scheduled ... Sunday, June 24, 2012!   More details are due this week.)
